How we make money

How we make money — and who we will not take money from.

Most places that rate prop firms or talk about payouts are paid by those firms. EdgeLedger is not. Here is exactly how we earn, stated plainly, so you can judge our firm-trust verdicts knowing what is — and is not — behind them.

EdgeLedger

Where our money comes from

Two sources, both from traders — never from the firms we evaluate. Paid subscriptions are the core of it. The only other revenue is our customer referral (affiliate) program, where traders and creators who recommend EdgeLedger earn a commission. That is it.

where-our-money-comes-from 4 items
  • Paid subscriptions to EdgeLedger (the main revenue)
  • A customer referral program: 30% commission for 12 months on traders someone refers (see the affiliate program page)
  • No trading data sold, ever — your trades are yours
  • We do not claim "subscriptions only" — the referral program is real revenue, and we disclose it

EdgeLedger

Who we will NOT take money from

No prop firm pays us, in any form, to be listed, rated higher, integrated, or spoken about kindly. This is the line that lets us answer the one question firm-affiliated reviewers cannot: will this firm actually pay you?

who-we-will-not-take-money-from 4 items
  • No affiliate or referral money from any prop firm
  • No integration, listing, or placement fees from firms
  • No sponsored or pay-to-rank positions in the trust index
  • No firm can pay to soften, remove, or delay a warning about itself

EdgeLedger

The pledge: what cannot be bought

Our firm-trust verdicts and payout-risk warnings are driven by evidence and the firms' own published rules — not by who we would like as a partner. If a firm we would happily work with has a payout problem, we will still say so.

the-pledge-what-cannot-be-bought 4 items
  • Trust verdicts come from evidence and firms' own rulebooks, dated and sourced
  • A warning is never altered, hidden, or pay-gated for a commercial partner
  • We will warn you about a firm even one we would want as a partner
  • If that ever changes, this page changes first — in plain language

Questions

Common questions

Do prop firms pay EdgeLedger?

No. No prop firm pays us for listing, ranking, integration, or favorable coverage. Our revenue comes from trader subscriptions and a customer referral program — never from the firms we evaluate.

So how does EdgeLedger make money?

Paid subscriptions are the core. The only other revenue is the customer referral (affiliate) program, where traders and creators earn a commission for referring other traders. We disclose it rather than claim "subscriptions only."

Can a firm pay to remove a bad rating or warning?

No. Trust verdicts and payout-risk warnings are based on evidence and the firms' own published rules. They are never altered, hidden, or pay-gated for any commercial partner.

Does the affiliate program affect your firm ratings?

No. The referral program is for people recommending EdgeLedger to other traders. It has nothing to do with prop firms and does not influence any firm-trust verdict.
